THETA SYSTEM, as the first and only manufacturer, uses digital 2 Megapixels cameras for printing control with progressive scan and UXGA–image resolution (1600x1200 pixels). The system works with the advantageous 4:3 image format, which corresponds to the HDTV 1080p image format of 10:6 and an image resolution of 1920x1080 pixels. The image-size-comparison, illustrated on the right hand side, shows the immense information benefit of more than 4.3-fold relative to the video display and more than 1.5-fold relative to the SXGA-image display of modern 3-chip-CCD cameras with 3 x 1.4 megapixel sensors.

You can choose very flexible between different image display details. 220 mm x 160 mm or special sizes like e.g. 560 mm x 420 mm are easily possible. Simply adjust our dualView systems to your demands what makes this system much more flexible and powerful than any other system on the market.

Special lenses, optimized for Multimegapixel-cameras, provide excellent resolution in the zoom range with high contrast, but without color fringing and image blurring. There are also no pincushion distortions, which all other conventional video inspection systems contain. The perfect synchronization of the camera shutter and progressive image readout with the flash illumination provides an absolute rejection of ambient light and also an image without smearing at the highest magnification and web speeds of >20m/s. The synchronization takes place by the progressive image readout with an exposure time smaller than 3 µs.
