Traversed web viewing systems:
 
easyView
easyView is our cost efficient, easy to use system for web viewing. A high resolution, digital progressive scan CCD camera technology for image resolutions up to 1024x768 pixels, in combination with a 12x servo-zoom lens, offer significantly more image information compared to conventional analog video camera systems. The systems performance can easily be compared to a 3CCD-camera system. The easyView contains of a camera-traverse unit, the image processing system and of our extensive but easy to use PCS View Software.

dualView
dualView With the help of revolutionary technology dualView leads to the next generation of web viewing systems providing entirely new features. It consists of two digital CCD cameras which are mounted side by side. The first CCD camera equipped with a wide angle lens offers the total overview, the second CCD camera is equipped with a telephoto lens and offers simultaneously a high magnification for finest image details. With this combination an extremely fast and precise web viewing can be achieved without any time consuming lens zooming. The image visualization is absolutely free of any distortions and fringes due to the application of two digital 2 megapixel cameras in combination with special high resolution lenses. Web viewing is not the only purpose of this high definition system consisting of 2 12bit cameras with a dynamic range of 4096:1, it can also be used for color measurement, color densitometry and color register measurement. dualView has been patented by Theta System because of its absolutely unique features.

Web viewing over the whole web width:
 
superView
superView integrates the newest technologies of dualView by the linear arrangement of several megapixel cameras with lenses of the same focal length, over the whole web width. Depending on the number of cameras, pixel resolutions of smaller 0.1mm can be achieved for the image capturing with more than 64 megapixels image information. For example 8 million pixels are visualized with outstanding image quality simultaneously by the use of four 20” LCD-color displays (each with 1600x1200 pixels). superView is especially suitable for densitometry, colorimetry, color register measurement, defect detection and barcode inspection in connection with our software modules. The inspection of the whole web sheet is possible in shortest time periods by the automatic scan in web running direction (multiscan).

ultraView
ultraView is the ultimate web viewing system. ultraView offers 100% inspection of every single sheet with a stunning resolution of <0.1mm. This system allows 100% defect detection, 100% color measurement, 100% color densitometry and a 100% barcode inspection. With this performance ultraView easily outstrips the measuring resolution in web running direction (at web speeds of 5m/s) of even the fastest inspection systems on the basis of line scan sensors.

spectraCon
spectraConis the worldwide first inline measurement system for simultaneous spectral color- and color density measurement over the whole web width with measurement rates up to some hundred per second. Due to this fact it is not only possible to completely scan each color control stripe with every rotation but also to scan the entire subject in web running direction for its spectral information. The spatial resolutions of this system is <1mm. High power LED illumination for line scan illumination grants nearly unlimited durability. With the use of 2D multi-spectral-photometers (comparable with >1000 ordinary spectral photometers) and a spectral resolution of <1nm in combination with 12bit CCD measurement cameras (optionally 16bit), the system provides precise and absolute color- and color density values. Closed Loop density control is also possible for special applications.

scanCon
scanCon is a very cost-efficient alternative or an add-on solution to our inline printing control systems. It is really simple: take a sheet out of the press and scan the sample with scanCon. In connection with our various software modules there are many possibilities of perfect quality control: control color, density, registers and detect defects or even barcodes. This system is available in DIN A4 up to DIN A0 scanCon format.

regiCon - color register
regiCon allows you to optimize your printing jobs from the beginning. Just measure the color register deviations and print out the quality protocol. This is not only a system for cost reduction, but also it provides a perfect verification of your high quality standards for your customers.

colorCon - color measurement:
colorCon provides a reliable quality control which facilitates the printer to print continuously at the same high quality level. With the detected deviations regarding the predefined reference values the user automatically receives correction recommendations. Thereby you can save wastepaper costs and a lot of time. The quality report gives you the possibility to provide proof of your quality to your customers.

deCon - color density
Color density in real time - The inline color density measurement enables the printer to recognize quality deviations very fast and to correct them immediately. A conventional hand operated densitometric measurement is not necessary any more. Saving of time and wastepaper are the positive result. Color constancy is achieved by prompt analysis of the measurements and the opportunity of a fast reaction of the printer to make adjustment modifications. As a result, the print quality is improved considerably.

defectCon - automatic defect detection:
defectCon is an upgrade of superView web inspection. It supports the user by automated defect detection continuously over the whole sujet and accelerates the reaction time of the printer enormously by immediate alarm and position output. Defects smaller than 1 mm are indicated reliably. Because the whole web width is controlled, it compensates the disadvantage completely that traversed systems only look at one part of the sujet.

barCon - Barcode
barCon scans continuously the barcodes you have defined and evaluates its accuracy. In case of printing deviations the printer is prompted to a fast reaction by an alarm. In connection with the PCS report function you now have an important proof document for your customers that the barcode has been printed perfectly over the whole production run.

CLOSED LOOP
A closed loop control optimizes the print quality of the entire production run. The computer controlled regulation with precise control algorithms works almost in realtime. With our closed loop systems you are always one step ahead.

For MAN Roland Druckmaschinen AG, Augsburg Germany, THETA SYSTEM is an OEM manufacturer. Through that our printing control systems are integrated in print Offices worldwide, which are characterized by their high claim to efficiency and quality.

Another example of our customers is the Banque de France for which we developed a special inline color measurement system for quality control for printing bank notes. On the basis of cameras, these systems operate with a 100% inspection of the Lab-color values and identify bank notes as waste paper, which are not in the tolerance.
