Controlling the color register is a fundamental part to achieve
a high and constant printing performance. The color register
determines the overlay of the different printing colors in the
printing process. Thereby the colors Cyan, Magenta, Yellow and
Key (black) – CMYK – and special colors are printed
sequentially. A flawless printing performance depends
significantly on how well the colors overlay each other. This
can only be achieved by a correctly adjusted color register.
Considering this fact it gets clear that color control without a
previous register control is almost useless. If the register is
not adjusted correctly this will result in a diffuse, blurred or
in the worst case, completely illegible print. Concluding we can
say that color register measurement is the primary basis for
successful printing. |
