Inline Color Density Control System

deCon

Inline defect detection system

Densitometry is the most applied measuring technique for color control in the printing industry, because of the well direct dependence between density and the thickness of the ink film. Especially the inline control at highest printing speeds and the measurement with every revolution of the whole color control bar offer new fields of process automation in offset printing. deCon as a state-of-the-art measuring system is offering all these features. As an innovator we constantly rise the ease of use and the usability of deCon. Therefore we offer traversed deCon systems as well as deCon systems for the whole web width.

Color Control Bar for Density Measurement and Control

Compared to ordinary RGB-cameras the digital CMYK-camera measures the density with a special patent pending method. The wavelength behaviour of these CMYK-cameras is similar to the values given in the DIN 16536 for standardized density measurement.

The measurements are performed with polarisation filters. Due to digitalization dynamics of 12bit (4095 grayscales compared to the 256 grayscales of normal 8bit video cameras) deCon offers a color density range of D>2. The flash light duration is shorter than 5 microseconds for web speeds > 30m/s.
